  • Using the inverted pyramid structure rank the information from most, to least important.
The most important information is that deforestation attributes up to 15% to global warming.
After that the explanation of how this happens and why. Afterwards the less important information come which state what countries are the most affected. The least important information are the details about Brazil and its process.

  • How does this article explore the lives of people?
There are two ways that people are involved, first the people are involved because if deforestation is not stopped it will severely influence the climate. The second way it involves the people is that is the countries where deforestation happens, many people need to cut down trees to gain money, so it is hard to explain to them that they should stop, since its their money and living source.

  • Identify the angle in one sentence.
"Deforestation and its extreme effect on global warming" The angle of this sentence is that deforestation is a serious problem for global warming and that in this article they will talk about how it influences the global warming and how it can be reduced.

  • How many quotations does the story contain
There are three quotations in this article both are from the Environmental Defense Fund. They give more detail about the recent actions and all the changes that occurred in the past years.

  • How effective do you think this text type example is at changing your views about the subject?
The article is quite effective in changing my view about the issue because it shows that not only deforestation is a big problem itself, but it also impacts many other big issues such as global warming. Global warming is always taken more serious then other issues, so it shows that it is all connected and global warming is going to get worse if we cut down trees.

  • How would you advise the author to make it more effective?

To make the article more effective I would add quotations from different sources and not only from one fund. For example I would try to add in a quotation of a specialist about this issue so that it can be explained in more detail. Also I would explain the issue into more detail instead of concentrating so much on the solution.
  •  What text type do you think could initiate change about this issue the most effectively?
I think this issue could be equally or also better initiate if it was to be done with a documentary that shows how deforestation adds more carbon dioxide with an animation so that the reader knows how it works. Then it can talk about the solution and talk to people that are involved.
